| Not sure how is Avira as i don't trust free antivirus. AVG really is poor in virus detection. It's strange that your list does not include Symantec |

| I heard recently that Kaspersky is considered better one among all. What do you think? |

Ya, many friends recommended Kaspersky but I think Bitdefender has better detection than Kaspersky. It fails to detect a virus which Bitdefender successfully detected it.
But the cons for Bitdefender is that it might be too sensitive, detecting safe file as harmful and sometimes it seems buggy.
Symantec Norton Antivirus 2009 has improved a lot, smallest memory footprint amongst all antivirus, fast detection speed. Haven't have the chance to try it out yet |

i think for me, as long as the anti virus are able to help in detecting virus offences and keep my computer safe. so far avira has performed well for me.
but its good to know more about anti virus softwares so in any case of infection, we would know what's best for our PCs |

| I still use AVG Free Edition. Served well for me up till now, but seriously there is no antivirus that is perfect. You still need some general knowledge on avoiding infected.[/list] |

It's not a good thing to have two antivirus installed. They may conflict and causes more problems then they can solve.
One reason - Antivirus A detected a virus and locks it for your confirmation. Antivirus B detected it as well and lock it as well. When you command A to delete or quarantine the virus, B will forbid A to modify the virus because it has locked in the virus. The circle goes around and around and nothing will be quarantine. |

Depend on which you like to use more... They are both decent antivirus softwares.
I do suggest you to get some security softwares such as SpywareBlaster, SpyBot Search & Destroy, HijackThis and AdAware.
These will add more security and as far as I use them, not much big problem occurred. |
